Every company I’ve started working with has had one thing in common: they had an urgent need to deal with change. Sometimes it came in the form of mergers and acquisitions, sometimes as a new market situation, sometimes as a sudden shift in the energy landscape itself. In every case, I saw how quickly change could turn into disruption — and how much better the outcomes were when professional marketing applied structure and focus.
That’s the reason I launched Nrg-Mktg, LLC. After nearly three decades of leading marketing inside energy companies — from startups backed by private equity to global corporations integrating dozens of acquisitions — I realized the work I enjoy most is helping leaders gain the most advantage from change. My goal is to show that marketing isn’t just a communications or support function. Done right, it’s the path to alignment; it focuses efforts on the things that matter most; and it builds momentum that directly affects revenue and company value.
This is where I’ll share not only news about Nrg-Mktg, but also my thoughts on marketing subjects in general, what I’m seeing across the energy industry and marketing insight for executives. Some posts will be about tools and tactics, others about the big shifts shaping the industry. My hope is that they’ll be useful to anyone facing the familiar challenge of turning disruption into progress.
